This dessert is taken hot, in a soup with young ginger + pandan leaves + a pinch of rock sugar. v
This celebration is celebrated annually on the December 22nd. This year is our 2nd time celebrating it. The last year was with Grandpa in Brunei. But this year the kids get to do it themselves otherwise Grandpa would have them done for the kids.. just eat! the Grandpa way.. What thid festival signifies? hmm.. gotta ask Grandpa..We just EAT!

We celebrated the tong yun festival on dec 22nd not only once but twice in a day! Seems that the tong yun fest is like everyone's birthday. After you eat the tong yun - you are older by one year. Traditionally the whole family gets together on this day. The signficance of the tong yun being round is the full circle of the family = harmony and peace in the family. Hope this helps.
