Sports Day

Dira came in second in her game. She could not get her eyes off her medal. I thought this picture says it all. The achievement she must have felt. I didnt expect her to be so into the team spirit and the spirit to win. Brave little girl.

Kakak on the other hand, loves to perform. Last year was line dancing, this year its cheerleading. All the effort put in during the rehearsals really paid off. Ms Caroline, the couch, done a great job with the routine + the uniforms. The best ever. Kakak also made an effort to search for a few cheers for the team. She really practiced hard and put all her heart into it.

Islamic Inspired Album

Some time back when Samantha brought me to the Islamic Museum, we were absolutely blown away from the Islamic Designs to the Islamic Architecture, it made me want to emphasise my next few projects to be very Islamic influenced, espescially the Haj Album I'm making for hubby. It never had occured to me that there were so many things to look at and may I mention its such a beautiful place to visit, very serene.
Papers used are Basic Grey, Marakesh Collection; K & Co; German Scraps Silver Borders.

I will always use German Scraps for my Islamic Inspired Projects. It adds a certain dimension and it creates such a texture and such rich colour to my projects. We are currently working on more art/projects to look as "Asian" as we can in our coming projects especially for Scrappingville. So I'm always on the look out for anything in my upcoming Asian Inspired Creations.

Birthday Cupcakes for Dada

We celebrated hubby's birthday at home. As usual, he usually doesn't like making a big deal out of everything, so we kept it small and simple this time. We made cupcakes! Yes its pink! It was definitely an unplanned decision I made when we got back from a long long day of running errands. The trick is to always have the essentials at home, the unsweetened butter, the flour, cocoa powder and the colourings ofcourse (each bottle will last you forever, really).

Lesson learnt here I baked the cupcakes on the baking tray(the one without the holes/lines) in the oven (which I will never do ever again). Everything started melted out of the souffle cups! Reason being because I rushed things and wanted to have all cupcakes baked at the same time on both trays.

Look carefully to see that some cups are overflowing! So, with my good photographing skills, I successfully blurred bits of the picture to show that all cupcakes are good-looking!! Ahem ahem..

Handmade Badges

Badges I made for my scrapping friends over in Scrappingville. Since we've been getting together for at least once a month, I wanted to make something special for each of them. Decided why not make badges for their pretty aprons they always wear. Again, a very arty, textured,
and not forgetting to mention chicken wire creation!

My Artsy Cards

My Inspiration? Samantha Schulz. She made some incredible handmade/handstamped cards for Scrappingville for charity. All cards made from PaperArtsy Stamps which we brought in for Scrappingville. They are absolutely gorgeous stamps from the UK. Very arty, may I add. One of my favourite things this current moment. My inspiration.

Twilight ATCs

I'm making themed ATCs for the series I'm either watching or books I'm currently reading. That way, I get to write down my favourite quotes from my favourite shows/books. I'm absolutely loving this idea at the moment, just making ATCs of my favourite things.

Tuesday

Ariff is curious..

Ariff: "Grandma, why are you going to London? Are you going to see Mr. Bean?"

Sunday

Baking, Baking

My homemade cake for Zara's 1st Birthday. Mimin wanted a homemade cake for her little girl turning one. So here is flower cake followed by a butterfly cake. All made with my new proud collection of Wilton cake pans.
Also followed on with some cupcakes made by both the kakaks. Yes that is also my very new Wilton Cupcake Stand..Muahahaha

So I made some more cupcakes for Valentines..

These I brought to the shop for a scrapping session with the ladies.

Wednesday

New Year, New School, New Student

My two girls off to big school. I truly miss them already. Dira has only just turned 6 and she's started Primary 1 (Year 1). To me, I still think she is still 5 at heart. She'll be fine, that's what I keep telling myself.

Being back in school, I made them a little something each, a personalised luggage tag.
