Thursday

Voila!

Nadia and Nadira finally finished their castles! It took us exactly a week to finish. 2 days to dry.. 1 day to paint, another day we added windows, this morning we started with glitter for the top and finally decorated the garden! Nadia's the pink castle and Nadira's the purple. I absolutely left Nadia to do the decorating.. she thought of the scrubs (supposedly "little trees", the bridge, the twigs) I am really happy with how both the castles turned out.

Now I have to think of how to keep the castles as long as possible... hmm.. any ideas? Shadow box? hahaha

Kids + Weekend = Activities

I was feeling like arts + crafts on Saturday morning, too lazy to leave home to take kids to Art Attack, so I pulled out the Art Attack book I bought for the kids ages ago and decided to build a castle. We finally made used of all the toilet rolls we've been saving all these months..

After putting up the castle structure with toilet rolls + masking tape, only did I realise, we should have done only 1 castle! Boy, did this kept me busy for the rest of the weekend. If you're curious, we still have not managed to finish the castle just yet. We have painted them and put windows in.. now all we've gotta finish is the glitter cone roof! We will try to finish that this weekend.

Wednesday

Zoo Negara

Thank you so much for all the comments for the Grandpa's Album. Figured the altered Dvd folder would be a better album for the sailing photos simply because I could put in as many photos as I want into it, just keep adding pages. But here is an album with much lesser photos of our recent trip to the Zoo. I have been wanting to scrap the kid's zoo photos forever, from Perth Zoo (2years ago) to this recent trip to Zoo Negara, Malaysia (a few weeks ago).

I found in my stash that I had animal prints acid free patterned papers lying around in my pile of papers!! Only remembered I had them after I did a major tidying up of my scrap area.

Also I found animal brads from Eyelet Outlet, I bought ages ages ago.. hehehe..sometimes you really don't know what you'll find after tidying up...hehehe

Every page I sanded for an aged look..

Because I cleared up all my scrapping mess, I misplaced the brochures I took back from the Zoo. So I printed out the map of the Zoo from the Website. The website was so helpful, I even included the names of the animals listed on the website.. great fun!

Album is actually a DVD folder. I ripped it apart, pull off the plastic covers and only kept the chipboard with spiral bind in tack. Painted over with Making Memories grey paint, gloss it after with Plaid's Decoupage Finish.

(Album Cover: MM painted over cover and finished with Plaid's Decoupage Finish for glossy effect; Basic Grey's Tag: Legacy Rub-Ons by Phrase Cafe; Page Inserts: Bazzill Cardstock (blue and grey) and Basic Grey Patterned Paper; Ek Success Fastener)

Favors for our Special Mel-a-ni

Yay! to Si Mel-a-ni! I happened to bump into these lovely sweet sweet hand fans, thought they'd be just right for a wedding function!! Mel mentioned that she might give these away during her berbedak function. Colour of sachets are creme/gold, thought they'll go well with the theme colour of the function green or creme ( i was told). Hope you like them, Mel. Can't wait.

Sunday

Ariff turns 1!

What a long day it has been for me. Thank gawd it turned out to be a Beautiful day .. just nice for a birthday party, all nice and sunny.. although I started preparing no later than 8am.

Managed to get everything ready (especially food) by 2pm!! This is just part of the baby area I had set up for kicking footballs! We didnt have any games because the babies were more interested in the bouncy rather than the footballs.. everyone headed for the bouncy instead.

This time I had time to get ready and rested just before the party started. Guests turned up abit later this time.. But its ok the kids were enjoying the bouncy like never before. Nadia and Nadira went right on immediately after it was ready.. They were so excited (so was Ariff). Ariff was thrilled with the bouncy!! He was trying to bounce/pounce but couldn't because both the kakaks were bouncy like mad!

and yes.. we had "nearly" everyone wearing jerseys .. both the girls were thrilled (as you can probably tell..in the picture). They look absolutely adorable.. they'll do anything for the little brother.

What a Beautiful Day...

Tuesday

Ariff's Party Preparations..

On the Menu..

Grilled Chicken
Beef Skewed with Onions and Red/Green Peppers
Nasi Goreng/Bee Hoon Goreng
My famous Potato Salad (Famous because I've been making this since Uni days)
My again famous Mango-Orange Salad (Famous because I make it All The Time, like for all the parties...hehehe)
Beef/Chicken Satay
Kiddies Chips
Kiddies Nuggets

Activities..

A baby area. I plan to lay out a huge carpet to accommodate all the babies (since its a baby birthday party). We are going to having Soccer Balls everywhere along with 2 goal posts. Nadia and Nadira will be in their football shirts organising the babies/guests in distributing whistles and party hats. I managed to find an all-new sit and pull football pinata! All babies (and/or mummies) gather round on the floor to pull the strings attached to pinata until it breaks!! We will also be hiring a bouncy for the older kiddos. It should keep them busy...hehehe

Party Packs..

Soccer Themed plastic bags to store in little wooden blocks (very cute especially for babies/toddlers), one slinky, and the rest lollies and chocolates. We'll see if we have enough time to slot in handmade thank you cards into party packs. We should have enough party packs even for the adults attending the party. Oh.. and also.. because we have so many footballs laying around.. every child will be taking home with them a football too!

Cake..

It will be a surprise by our fav baker, who makes all of our cakes. All I plan for the cake is to be a football, the rest she is going to surprise me..

Fingers crossed. Check back for photos.

Wednesday

Celebrate.

I am busy preparing for Ariff's 1st birthday party. It took me awhile to decide between a dinosaurs or a tractor theme. But it had occured to me that his favourite toy is his Nike football.. so finally not too long ago decided, yup, that's it..a football theme! Started with making these football invitations.. thanks to Making Memories Circle Cutter, it made cutting these circles soo..easy.. Today, mimin and I went shopping for goodies to go into goody bags.. we were amazed with what we found.. we managed to find inflatable footballs and goals, fake grass (for the decor), little wooden blocks (just the right size to fit into goody bags)..ahem and yes ning we found some superhero stuff too..inflatable swords!! (only if you want them)
