Saturday

smallest of them all

smallest of them all, was so 2009! I'm beginning to see everything in red and white and maybe green.. yes, the Christmas colours. I'm also sorting out my scraps in the drawers separating the colours of patterned papers and cardstocks. Boy, there's lots to do.

So, here is something I put together all scraps nothing new except for the Hambly patterned paper and the Jenni Bowlin Star Banner Stickers.

Let's see how many more Christmas inspired colours can I whip up as scrapbook pages.

Layout # who's counting?

@ 2.5 Months layout

Yes, Nasha weighs 7 ish kgs @ not even 3 months! We'll wait 'til our next visit to see how much weight she's put on in a month. On average, babies put no more than 1.5kgs but at the rate Nasha's going, she's putting on 1kg in 2 weeks! Sigh, it must be the 'healthy cow's milk', my sister puts it.

Oh well, if it doesn't bother her, it doesn't bother me.. LoL.
Stash: American Crafts Patterned Papers, German Scrap white borders, Jenni Bowlin green button.

Thursday

Goal layout

Ariff and Omar recently started football in Little League. They are having so much fun, finally the boys are doing something together every week.  I'm using up my stash again this time, Fancy Pants Patterned Papers Father's Day Kit.

As I am never quite a sewing machine person, let's just say the stitching is intentional but not the trail of holes made by the machine. I like the messy look of it all and I would definitely do it again. Dina Wakeley, one of my fav celeb scrapbook artist, does this on her pages too. Check her out!

Monday

Baby Tiger layout

Tiger Year. 2010. My Baby Tiger. I say she's fierce, she gets what she wants when she wants it. When she roars, I jumped onto my two feet. Yes, she is a baby Tiger. Roar.. but when she is asleep, she is calmness and cuteness..

Doilies on Hambly's Doily Patterned Paper. Looking absolutely fab, grey on white, transparent overlay on white is absolutely fab! Hey simple is simple but I think the picture says it all. When its a good picture I tend to do less on the page but when its not a great picture, simple is not the way to go.

Oh those eyebrows just tells you that she's one fierce baby.. roar.. but I can tell you.. she won't bite** like what my kids would say.. what is she gonna do? GUM us to death?~quoted from a Dinosaur animation movie.

Sunday

19 Folds layout

I counted, there are 19 folds. This is a layout about Nasha have 19 folds. She is now 7kg barely 3 months! Yes, she is my little bundle of joy or perhaps a bundle of folds. I counted just the other day, from her neck to the hands, thighs, tummy.. she has 19 folds.

Ok, so now I'm loving the little details. The little details that makes me happy. The little details that says it all. My favourite little details are now lace, lace, lace. American Craft's felt alphabets are perfect on lace. It not only creates texture to just paper but it adds the cosyness of it all.

Martha Stewart's butterfly is must have. If you don't already own one, go head out and get one! It is a definite definite must have. I also think the little alphabet stickers should also be in your basket if you have not tried using them on your layout. Mixing bigger fonts with smaller are the key to your layout. Play with different sizes of alphabets to complete your layout, not only does it help to highlight the important words, also it creates interest to the layout.

Prima's Canvas Albums

New Prima Canvas Album, 4x6 inches, is absolutely too cute to not have. If you enjoyed the class with the canvas layouts as your pages, you'll love this. This time, you'll need to paint the covers too! How exciting, you can one for every colour! Yes I would do that, since I'm a hoarder, if I like something and it looks good, I'll have to have it in all the colours.. LoL.. but that's just me. Watch this class soon in October in Scrappingville.

This is the previous canvas size by Prima an 8x8 inches album. Bigger not so cute, but a must have too! This album is more to a blue-y colour rather than green, this is not a good photo of it, but it'll work for now.

Friday

Everyday Lunch Time

I'm still continuing on with capturing the everyday the Ali Edward's way. I think capturing the everyday moments are important, so then the kids will look back and know what they were up to and what they were like and did while growing up.

Again using my old stash, Sassafrass Lass Star Stickers, Hamblys Journal Stickers, Collection Elements Cardstock Alphabets, all on Basic Grey's Back to Basic Collection (sharks, which is new).

Yet another simple boy-style layout for Ariff while having his lunch, fingerfood and milkshake (ok, that doesn't happen often) but he loves it!

Tuesday

i made a choc drink

I have been computerl-less since my last post. I'm still making layouts, churning and churning. My silly Mac is faulty and something has to be replaced. Silly Mac but hey at least its still under warranty (for another 2 years, that is). So, I'm now back to my little handy dandy Compaq laptop (which I must say, I miss using).

Anyway, here is yet another simple layout. Stamping on this layout was fun as I have not been for a while. I am an addict when comes to rubber stamps. I absolutely LOVE stamps. I will never get enough of rubber stamps. I LOVE them. If its cute, its mine.

Even simple stamps like these Tim Holtz's ones, splatters, which we could do with just a flick of the brush and some paint, with a stamp as simple as this we could do without BUT not me. I have to have them.

So, I am a Unity Stamp Member. What happens is that they charge your credit card monthly and sends you a Kit of the Month stamps {surprise} I love the {surprise} in my mail every month. Its always fun to get scrapbook items in the mail for you, right? I know I do. Also, what's interesting with the Unity Stamps is that you get a monthly discount code where you can purchase any stamps you can on thier website with a special member discount! and that's not all, you get a free gift if you send $35 and above! oh I absoultely adore them. They have very pretty/cute stamps. Too cute to not own. And hey if you refer a friend you'll get something for yourself too. So, if you are a rubber stamp addict, like me, be a member. Too good to miss out on. And don't forget to refer me as a friend!
Your friend, Sharon Yong Abdullah.

or Scrappingville has a nice collection of Unity Stamps now in stock.

My Ride

After using the new stash, I have also decided to go back to my pile of old papers for this layout. Here are papers from KI Memories the Elsie Collection, Making Memories Felt Alpha Stickers, Hambly Overlays and some Jenni Bowlin Stickers.

The details on this page is very simple, its more of the journaling for this one. Ok, its Ali Edward's Font I purchased a while back from Creating Keepsakes.

Wednesday

Here's the Story Layout

Once again I'm using the same collection by Basic Grey, Capella Collection for this layout. I'm still loving the Ali Edward's wordings onto the photos using photoshop. If you have not try this, you have to its lots of fun and adds more to our pages.

I love this picture, although there are blurry here and there, but I'm happy with it and it tells a story.

Here's my jpg file of the photo converted from a photoshop file and now into a jpg file.

Friday

Us TWO Layout

Ok so I got stuck with this layout. I've got the heading right, just 'Us TWO' that was it. I had nothing more to say nothing less to say, just that.

Jenni Bowlin's Vintage Buttons, I'm lovin' them! From American Craft's Dear Lizzy to Basic Grey's Capella Collection is a change, I know, but I'm also a Gemini. I guess jumping from one idea to another is in my nature. It was challenging though to completely move from cuteness to an somewhat, I would call it, an elegant look. Although, I think the Capella Collection is growing on me.. there will be more to see from these papers!

Layout # 22
p.s. Ok, honestly I don't think I'll  finish 100 layouts in 2010, which was my goal earlier in the year.

Wednesday

Everyday Layout

Over the weeks I have been reading up on digital scrapbooking, not a huge fan myself, but just curious about what hybrid scrapbooking can I try. Hybrid is a combination of the traditional scrapbook + digital. Since I know Ali Edwards uses alot of digital in her current layouts, I decided to give it a try and do what she does on her layouts.

I downloaded Ali Edward's Handwritten Words kit from Designer Digital and followed the instructions on her video tutorial and I learnt how to do this on my photos before I print them out. May I also add, you'll need Photoshop for this and in Ali's video, she takes you through with using the photoshop so no sweat! If I can do it, so can you! I am so loving this now. It looks really neat. Oh, and by the way, I took this photo on the iPhone with one of my favourite Apps, Hipstamatic App.

Here are the photos in jpeg files.

Sunday

Paperbag Mini Album

A Paperbag album is something I've always wanted to try. I finally finished my mini album, again, with American Crafts Papers and the self adhesive fabric papers.  Completing the album didn't take very long but thinking of what the album is going to be about took the longest time.

I decided to dedicate this album to a compilation of all the little information about all my babies from the meaning of the names, to time they were born, the products they used, their favourite toy, etc. Its a keepsake containing all the little things of their lives.

Nadia means the beginning, the first.

The papers go very well here, little bees, green green grass. I added a safety pin (alright, they never used a safety pin but just for going with the baby theme, we'll just play along).

Nadira means rare, extraordinary, precious.

Ariff means knowledgeable, authority

Nasha means scent, perfume

Being a paperbag album, there are pockets for every page, which works out perfect for me to add little notes to every page or little keepsake.

My paperbag album spine. I've used the fabric papers for the binding of all the pages inside and out.

I dunno about anyone else, but the paperbag album has always been the thing for me, everywhere I look there has always been a desire for me to make one. Maybe because of the texture, or maybe we make it from scratch or maybe how amazing it is we can make something out of something else, this would be an altered mini album.
