Tuesday

Donna Downey's Creative Escape Asia ~ Singapore

This is Donna's Inspiration Journal, truly is inspirational. I love love books that are full of stuff until to a point where its unable to close.. well this is one of those books.. an inspirational journal.
In an Inspiration Journal, you are playing with color palettes, trying something new or creating a finished piece. ~ Donna
I'm so inspired that I wanna do one myself right away and finish right away.

Your aim is to unlocking your creative and personal potential. It's about opening up to possibilities and choosing to see life as a vehicle for opportunity and change. ~ Donna
There are so much texture, colours, ideas, and ofcourse stuff.

To learn from our mistakes, but often times those mistakes lead us to great personal successes. what we can learn from just making the time to try is unquestionably invaluable. ~ Donna

I have been looking for the perfect journal all my life, and here I've found it, Donna's own Inspiration Journal. Fabric covered. Cardstock papers + Envelopes + Tags etc. I'm so absolutely making this, you'll see..

This is why I'm making one. ~ Me.

Friday

all packed & ready to go..

I can't wait.. I'm excited and beyond words.. I really do hope everything turns out well and I'll come back filled with inspiration..

Leaving for Singapore today for Donna's Creative Escape Asia, Singapore.

I've checked the checklist of things to bring, checked my bags (my huge purple trolley scrap bag), I'll be dragging that with me to the class tomorrow.

With my big tummy, I'll be waddling my way there and back..

Monday

It is time. Believe in yourself.

Again I have used the new 7Gypsies papers, Avignon Collection. I'm absolutely loving them, because of the colours, the beautiful edgy colours but yet classic colours! Great for family layouts.

Maya Road Fabric Flowers, I made the little button on the right myself. I'll always have some kind of texture in my projects.

Butterfly Stamp by ChatterBox, Daley Rowney Acrylic Inks, Gauze and a doiley to finish my layout.

Sunday

Perfect Memories. Limited Edition.

I started by background paper with splatters on the page but ended up covering most of it which did border me a little. I've always wanted to see how a layout would look like if I stuck 3 mini pictures down the middle. I think it looks ok rather than always having the pictures and everything on one side (which is the trend now).

Materials used are Hambly Overlays, Making Memories Stickers, Collection Elements word chips 'tweet tweet', and the rest of the papers are 7Gypsies.

Saturday

Canvas Class with Leena

12x12 canvas. A very layered canvas with Prima Flowers. What I particularly liked about this canvas is actually the black splattered acrylic paint. Its not as simple as you think. Its a movement of the wrist perfected by Leena herself as what she refers to the way you would 'rotan' on the table of course. My canvas splatters are done by her, I did just once just to give it a try.

And because I'm not a layer kinda person, I found it quite challenging to do. But with the help of Leena, I thought my layering is not too bad at all. I guess the most important thing to remember is that every thing (embellishment) does not have to be seen as a whole but parts tucking into its place is good enough.

Yes, its a very popped up canvas with every flower jotting out of its place.

This canvas didn't take as long as 3 hours to finish. With Leena's help we finished in two! Thank you, Leena for coming to teach us this beautiful piece of yours. We cannot wait to see what you come up with next.

Apron-o-logy' by ~ Me.

I have been waiting for the perfect idea, a splash of colour to inspire me to start on this apron.

Today, I started it not quite finished it but its almost done.

Today, I got a chance to scrap with Sharon K and Naddy, yes on a Saturday afternoon, rather than catching up with my TV, I decided to sit in Scrappingville to crop. I'm so happy that I did, cos this is what I made. I love how the flowers turned out.

Guess what will Scrappingville be teaching next month? Canvas aprons! Ta-daa.

Wednesday

I am what I am. Proper

I started off with Bazzill's Kraftt Cardstock. Its amazing how thick the cardstock is. See how Ariff is so serious looking in this Raya picture. He is what it says here, proper. He picks his clothes before he goes to take a bath. All put in its place, shirt above the pants, underpants where it is suppose to be. Then heads for the bathroom.

I guess its got to do with the nanny who brought him up. No mess. Clean. In order. Everything was proper. He has grown up that way. Dada complaint that Ariff is the only boy who washes his hands after eating a piece of salad! Ha!

Having said that, I'm not sure if I've spend most of my time with him making him the way he is. Oh well, he is definitely a mummy's boy, what can I say.

Monday

Sugar & Spice & everything nice

This is probably the sweetest I'll ever get. Like I said before, I'm probably very dark inside, every project I'm on seems to always turn out blackish, brownish.. maybe it's got to do with the colours I'm always dressed in ~ black.

Although the bun in the oven seems to be another girl, I ought to be sweeter in terms of picking colours, so its ok to have cute-sy layouts, cute-sy albums.. for now, that is, since I'm gonna be surrounded by 3 growing girls.

So, let's see if I can do more sweet-sweet layouts..
