Saturday
Gayn's You & Me Album
Yes, album is so pretty that Nadira couldn't resist but to be in the picture also.
Friday
Penang Album
Instead of having the rub ons and embellishments on the layouts I had them on the page protectors! The effects are very much like an acrylic album. I like the idea of seeing thru to the next page.
All patterned papers used here are American Crafts. They are bright coloured and loud which makes the album fun and very colourful.
Used Ranger's Distress Embossing Powders, embossing each layer with different colours. With this distress embossing powders, it seasier to do the layering with different colours as it does not spoil or melt the previous colours, and does not have a shiny finish, its matte and I love it!
Most of the journaling bits are from Maya Road Sheer Collection. As I don't quite fancy my own handwritting (still working on it) so I added little chipboard bits on it. Tip: Buttons are best to stick on with pop glue dots. I used to use extra bond liquid glue but ever since I tried pop up glue dots, there's no turning back. They are super duper stronger and guarantees sticks well!
Cut Hambly Overlays to 6x6 and punched holes and added it as a page. Added shells the kids picked from the beach. These were the actual shells we picked during the trip. Tip: The next time you're collecting shells, look out for the flatter shells, just makes it easier to add to the page to prevent it from being too bulky. Again, use pop up glue dots, they work wonders!
Added 7Gypsies Stickers and Hambly Studios rub ons.
Wednesday
Coffee Break Album
Being a scrapper, I tend to keep everything I think one day, I'll have an idea of how to alter it. So here it is, the cup holder I collected from the last year's.
Cut out green & white cardstocks. Inked it. Stamped Tim Holtz's fav stamps on it. Added photos to it. Added thickers.
A Paperbag Album
Its simple to make, with pockets on every other page to store a little something like a picture etc. I've used Hambly Studio heavy overlays as my pages in the pockets. But you could just keep tickets from a trip etc, you'd be surprise with what you can keep in the pockets, very handy, and not to mention quite interactive.
After adding patterned paper on every page, each page becomes more sturdy, so it makes it easier to heat emboss anything on it. I've used distressed embossing powder on some of the pages and UTEE on some. I'm loving my Tim Holtz Stamps, embossing powders, etc, as you can see here.
To add more texture to the page, I embossed Clear embossing powder is great too! (and so much you can do it) I've added rub ons + stamped Making Memories Number Foam Stamps.
This is probably the very few times, I've handwritten the journaling on the page! I've really seriously have got to start loving my handwritting, noticed how I've only handwritten on the page that goes in the pocket? Still trying..
