Undisclosed Real Life Facts

A Maya Road Chipboard Mini Album. I painted gesso, as a base layer, on all pages including the covers front and back. Embossed in gold and bronze Harlequinn Stamp. Adding more layers with Tissue Papers. I happen to find some cotton textured paper, some what like a big wrapping paper. Colourwashed it with Red Ranger colourwash. Tore out pages from a novel, applied a layer of gesso over it, cut out patterned paper and added my pictures and some lace ribbons.
This mini book is a little keepsake to remind me all of the things my mum used to say to me when I was little and while going thru the pictures, I'd realised that I have quite a few pictures with mum.

Mini Album ~ using just Spritzers

At first, I felt like I was going back to my kindergarten art class when I started my first page.
I just loved how the colours blended together and the many ways to spritzing the wonderful colours.
You'll see that its very satisfying to see that you've started from just plain white paper to some awesome colourful paper, which you have completely 100% control over making your own paper from scratch!
Watercolour Papers + Paint Spritzers = Mini Holiday Scrapbook Pages
You have to try this technique, if you don't have any Colourwashes by Ranger or ready mixed -spritzers by Shimmerz, you could always make some by just adding water into a spritzer bottle and adding a drop or two of acrylic paints and there you have it.. give it a try it's truly truly fun fun fun.

Playdate Layout

I've been experimenting with spraying inks. Here is my take on a spray ink layout. My little niece, Zara's Swimming Playdate.

Materials used: Maya Road Chipboard as a stencil for spray inks, cut out flower from patterned paper and sprayed that too to add on as embellishment on page. Rub ons used are DCWV and Basic Grey.  7 Gypsies alphabet and ATC stickers.
Tip: You can make your own spray inks with just water in a spritzer bottle and a dash of acrylic paints of your choice and shake well. If you'd like add some silver acrylic paints for added shimmer!

1 Malaysia

My Merdeka Canvas. This year we celebrate,1 Malaysia, a unity among the multiracial community in Malaysia. Which is the case in our household. A unity of Malays, Chinese, Syeds within our family. Despite the differences, we are 1 Family, we are 1 Malaysia. *waving the flag vigorously*

Monday

Super Ariff

Over the weekend, I managed to captured Ariff on camera while he was playing in his super outfit. Occasionally, he likes dressing up as a super hero and if we do go out for lunch, he'd wear it out. Although the picture is on the dark side, but I guess this the best I can do (even with iPhoto).

Sunday

Mel..ly

Dear Ning,
You know I'm always thrilled to have any of my close buds from Brunei, so I get to take them to places to chill out and catch up on things in KL. This time, I brought Mel to The Daily Grind, nice quiet place in Bangsar Village, they serve burgers but they play music back in the early 90s! You don't get alot of places that plays good music.. I'm glad I discovered this place. Good music, good company, what more can I say. Ok, so who's next?

Scrapbook Album for Tun M

Under pressure under pressure but I had to get it done. The ideas have to roll in no matter what. Here I'm thinking how to do a scrapbook for someone who already have a pile of books written about him, and may I also add that he is in the history books too! So I thought and thought let's do a scrapbook to tie in with a bit of how much he is a family man and a leader to a country. One every layout, not too much journaling but just titles on each page. I enjoyed tremendously doing this album, very challenging but I did it. So as BSC was presenting the album to Tun on stage and as they were flipping the pages, I blushed. Now, I am happy, I contributed. Thank you BSC for getting Scrappingville to be part of your launch for Lat's 1 Malaysian Exhibition.

Monday

Layout~ patterned paper

Yes, after watching ALL of MJs videos (yes, I went out to buy them ALL!) I'm slowly getting back to reality. My excuse for not having any scrapping mojo for the past weeks. So my first layout is this.
The challenge is to only use patterned papers for the layout.

Materials used: Fancy Pants Patterned Paper, October Afternoon Patterned Paper, K & Co Self-Adhesive Paper Ribbon.
