Sneak Preview: Michelle's ATC (still in progress)

Sneak Preview: My ATC (still in progress)

Today I managed to finish some LOs @ Michelle's place. My LOs are not ready to be blogged yet. I'm making a series of LOs with new techniques that I've been playing around with. According to Jessy http://teacherjessy.blogspot.com/, she reckons I should do a theme thingy for my LOs today such as Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, and Deepavali. Hahahaha. Jessy is a great photographer. She has the eye for it. Did I also mention that she's good with kids! Hence, take beautiful photos of the kids!

Just because Michelle got her new 7 Gypsies Revolving ATC Holder today. She challenged me to make her an ATC before I left her house today. So this is how my ATC looked like except didnt managed to finish the details on the back of the card, will tonight (fingers crossed) and pass it to her tomorrow.

Its been some time since Michelle & I scrapped together. We had forgotten how fun we had since we scrapped last. Eat. Coffee (for me) chinese tea (for her). Laughs. Kids. We should definitely scrap more often. I had so much fun. Thank you Michelle for feeding me all the yummy food. One thing with Michelle there's always something to eat, something I have not tried. Thank you for having us over again!

CupCaKes

Wow, its been a long day today. Up early cos the kids were just so excited to open presents! So excited with what Santa got them in their stockings! They said they were trying to look for Santa's footprints to see which way he went.
Early Up. Open presents. Lunch with family ~ dimsum..yumm. Guests over. Made cupcakes with kids. Cooked Lasagna for dinner. Phew, now its my time. Kids are all asleep by 9pm.
I was really pleased with the cupcakes.

Its so easy! Yay! Yup the aluminium is by Reynolds the ones i got for you here. They are disposable I think. No baking tins required too! Love them. Getting more of them!

Winter Solstice Festival

Since Nana is in town, she thought she should make this chinese hot dessert a.k.a "tong yun" with the kids. Nana insisted in going to the market to get some ready-made glutinous rice flour (coloured, mine you. .hahaha so much for D-I-Y..shh) + peanuts to make this yummy dessert!
This dessert is taken hot, in a soup with young ginger + pandan leaves + a pinch of rock sugar. v
This celebration is celebrated annually on the December 22nd. This year is our 2nd time celebrating it. The last year was with Grandpa in Brunei. But this year the kids get to do it themselves otherwise Grandpa would have them done for the kids.. just eat! the Grandpa way.. What thid festival signifies? hmm.. gotta ask Grandpa..We just EAT!

My Inspiration Board

At the moment, chipboards + glitters + kid's artwork, are what inspires me. In my previous posts, you see me played with chipboards. UTEE + Rub-ons + paints + inked it + stamped it, you name it.. I have done it! I think they are a great embellishment to put on layouts, especially into mini albums.
I have also included words onto my board. Words such as CAPTURE LIFE. Ali E's latest book, Life Artist, emphasise on just that, Capture Life. That's exactly what I'll do. She inspires me.

I LOVE TO CREATE. I definitely do. I love to alter too.

MY STORY WILL BE TOLD. Yes, it will.

FAMILY. Family is my main subject. Family + Friends, that is..

MEMORIES. Beautiful memories. Beautiful stories to be told.

PLAY. Yes, I do. Always playing.. with different techniques in many different ways..

LOVE. Love my art. Love my family. Love the memories.

CAPTURE LIFE'S LITTLE MOMENTS. Yes, I do. Hence, I carry a camera where ever I go now.

TAKE NOTE. Everyday.

Flourishes Chipboards are from Fancy Pants. Kid's artwork Bunny by my younger daughter, Nadira. Prima Paper Flowers. Patterned Papers: 7Gypsies, KI Memories, Nadia's artwork (light blue, in the background).
Chipboard, Family is 7 Gypsies. Heart shape is given by my daughter, Nadia, for Mother's Day. Capture Life's Little Treasures is KI Memories Patterned Paper, Elsie Collection.
Chipboard: Cosmo Cricket. Words Play & Love is KI Memories.

My inspiration board is about what inspires me at this very point in time. I intend to find more ways to create with the kid's artwork. Words I have on the board, are words that inspires me to create. This board sits on my scrapping desk, right infront of me.

Friday

Anxiety. Hopeful. Tranquility.

Mak & Hubby left yesterday for the Haj. All relatives came to wish them both a safe journey. There were tears + wishes (which lead to more tears..). Just watching him get ready, wearing what they call a Ihram, men's & women's garments worn by Muslim people during the Ihram pilgrimage (the Haj), was enough for me.

The kids were fine (except staring at me, as to why is Mama in tears?, kinda look) Hubby & I did not want to dwell so much into them to make them sad. They know Dada is on a Holy Trip and he will be back in 2 weeks.

Couple of days ago, chowchowscrapper posted about an Altered Art Challenge on http://www.artzdescrap.blogspot.com/. An Inspiration Board is one of the many things on my project list, so without hesitating, I took on the challenge and started cracking. Here is a sneak preview of what I've been cracking on..

Monday

Doa Selamat

My flower arranging skills does not get better than this.. hahaha.. I think it's nice right? I'm proud of it since it took me nearly an hour to do 2 vases! sigh..

Mak is like " Shar get dressed, what are you doing?" hehehehe. (Mak's in the background)

Guests started to arrive right on time. Prayers are for Mimin's pregnancy, to pray for a save delivery and that everything will go smoothly for mother & baby, we also baca doa for Mak & Hubby's Haj Trip this Thursday, we pray for their safety and health, a special prayer for our beloved Aunty Aishah, who passed away on 25 November 2007, Mak's closest friend (we miss you).

Ladies only function. Mimin's home, Laman Sutera. Small function with 30 - 50 ladies attending.

Thank you Ustazah for conducting the prayers for us and enlightening us with the stories of being a mother and for all the Haj stories you shared with us. It was funny and very enlightening. Thank you all for coming.

Getting Organised

Is it too early to be planning my New Year's Resolution? oh well, 1 of it isto be more organised. Let me just start with the scrapbook closet. I have been chucking stuff into the closet without even looking twice but I think I cannot stand any longer but I need to organise it asap!
As I was clearing my table mess (including the scrap drawers I have under the table) I found this.. in case you don't know what this plastic cases are from. Its the plastic casing for bedsheets! Yes, I decided to keep them (like everything else, boxes, plastics of sheets) and good thing I did because it really comes in handy. It works perfectly! Handy because its transparent, so you could what you've stored in it. I decided to store my huge Marvy punchers, or even store my scrap supplies before my crop session. The bigger bags can however fit bigger size chipboards, mounting boards, etc.

Just a handy tip to not throw them away with your next purchase of bed linens. Sometimes my girls keeps for me the plastic casing from their toys. I use them to store my rubber stamps.

Well at least they don't get dusty! Dust is something I cannot stand on my beautiful stamps!
