Canvas Wall Decor

So I am thinking about re-doing Ariff's room. I want to repaint and fill it up with layout frames/canvas decor like the one below.

This is my plan.

I may also have to consider doing two more for each of the girls.

This canvas framed-like decor are easy to make, and they can be done swiftly as gifts too.

Photos or a word can be used. I made this one for Ariff, one small word, LOVE.

Dira says the darnest things

Since Merdeka is this weekend. Let me share this with you.

Today

Dira: "Mama how many people are there in this world?"
Mama:"Lots. Do you know how many people there are in China alone?"
Dira: "No. How many?"
Mama: "One Billion!"
Dira:"Mama, you mean China is bigger than Malaysia? How can? I think Malaysia is bigger, way bigger, I'm sure!"

The Other Day

Dira: "Mama, you don't know anything because you come from Brunei. I come from Malaysia, I know everything!"

Let's just say hubby is so proud of his little Malaysians.

All Baked Out!!

This year Nadia & I decided that we should take part in the school's International Food Fest, Sri KDU. All profits made from the sale goes to a list of charity community Sri KDU distributes to. You learnt about charity, about money, about selling, about leading.

I spent the whole day baking cookies the day before aiming for 100 giant cookies to break even, but only managed to bake 70 - 80 giant cookies and got all baked out by dinner time.

I had no idea how determined you'd be with selling the cookies we made. You insisted to bring the cookies round to sell instead of just selling them at the stall, with that, our cookies sold out by 10am! Cookies were pretty standard in taste but I think what really matter was the packing of the cookies. It was definitely a mother & daughter experience together. I enjoyed doing it together, I really think you did too. I had no idea how motivated you can get with selling the cookies, you helped, you took charge, you led, you worked. It was definitely an experience worth it. Great job, girl.

Mr Roderick, school principal stopped to snap a picture too!

Chocolate Chip Cookies, Hundreds & Thousands Cookies, Chocolate Cookies in transparent decorated boxes.

Sweets to end the sweetest day.
We had help from your classmates, Jean & Munirah, too! What a wonderful bunch of friends.

{Glitter fun}

Inspired by Thila, scrapper friend, who's been scrapping her kids' baby pictures. I decided I have been putting that off for too long. I'm definitely addicted to glitter now. So nearly every layout I've done recently has a lot or a bit of glitter here and there. To my surprise, just by adding glitter to my layouts really brings out the colours used on the page, it helps to complete the page. I'm really more of the simple type of scrapper with not too many embellishments used nor too many colours that I feel its crowding out the page.

Tip: Using glitter can be very fun + addictive but if not careful, easily smudges. Always good to get the ones with the fine tip for easy application.

{Where} On flowers / photos / paper / ribbons / brads

{How} Dots / Fine Line / Smudge

Happy Birthday Gayn

Ok, so I am still into mini albums. Once again, here are layouts for our 9x9 American Crafts Album. Some favourite pictures from young to the latest pictures taken together. I purposely left the album unfinished just so we can add to it as we go along.
