Sunday

Nasha's princess party

We made cupcakes. I try to keep it a tradition that I bake every child turns 1.. and I did it.

How lovely it all turned out. Kakak helped to decorate the cupcake we both made the night before.

okay.. I also took time to set out the decor this time. Hubby decide to bbq so I had only the decor to keep me busy. I managed to nap for 30 mins before the party with the precious baby girl.. so we were both in very good moods after the nap just in time for the party.

Lovely cupcake stands I found in Accessorize.

Every cousin who came got a tiara and a tutu.

My precious baby turning 1!

Other princesses were also present.

Lovely cake mimin brought to the party. Absolutely cuteness!

and brought lollies too!

Happy Birthday!

(can't wait to do a mini album with these photos)

Edited the photos into a vintage style with a little blur in the corners.

Thursday

Handmades for Father's Day

What to make this year? Kids had the idea of making something for dada's office, so each made a canvas

All mama did was help to put it together. Ofcourse the mama tried to colour coordinate and blend when they are not looking. Kids have a mind of their own when it comes to art. They are confident with the colours they pick, with the stamps they choose, the embellishments they like, etc. If only I was as confident as they are, I'll be churning out projects as fast as a blink of an eye.

but I just love the new banner stamps I got from Unity Stamps, so versatile..

I might even use these stamps for Nasha's birthday celebration coming up, instead of a cloth banner, I might go with a paper stamped banner!

Sunday

apron for a special lady

a customer popped in and ask if they could get a customised apron made specially for a bride.. i thought why not?

she said lots and lots of lace and the word 'the bride' on it please..

a lime green apron, pink and white flowers.. turned out i like it!

Thursday

random things today

Continuing with my inspirational journal, I finished this page today, yes only today. Its been a page sitting for too long but finally here it is.

Words of Inspiration by Donna, autographed in my journal! Its great to look into the journal for ideas/techniques finished. Not containing just that, but also a reference to what goes with what.

So, now I know that having 2 tags sit together on a page along with ripped book pages, painted over, colour white washes, added on green tree iron-on (totally getting a hang on ironing-on onto paper!) also it adds texture/interest onto the page.

Today, with my little time away from Nasha was enough, I came back to spend little 30mins on adding Tim Holtz's Sticker Alphabets onto this page and I was smiling and I felt like I achieved and finished another page!! Yay.. totally awesome.. Loving the colour..

Hmm.. I wonder how this would look on a scrapbook page with added mixed-media into it! Totally, fun and cheerful..

Saturday

its been WAY.. too long since I've blogged

A week ago I attended Donna Downey's Creative Escape, Singapore. A whole day of fun and we made 3 projects (mini albums). 3 mini albums in a day! It was absolutely crazy fast, but fun, fun, fun AND totally inspired! Here is what we did in the morning, a mixed media album, a mix of canvas pages + transparency + cardboard in fabric. This year, Donna is playing more with fabric which I totally LOVE and totally have ALOT of.

I held back when Donna asked us to handwrite into the pages, exactly, I thought, "I'm gonna spoil the page!.." BUT the result is, I can't get enough of it now! Argh.. handwriting it is.. all the way.. oh yah

Putting the album together is no sweat but there's always something new to try (i.e hand writing with a nib pen using India ink), honestly, wouldn't have tried it if I was on my own. Its fun! More ideas to add into my future pages. Write on paper, canvas, fabric, etc!

Even just looking thru the pages, the colours are also my inspiration! Donna inspires the colours in me.. LoL.. quote, quote

ok yes, that's duct tape you see there.. so would have thought? But because Donna is using them, its ok to use them too.. another No No zone for me.. so I'm working outside of my comfort zone here

What more can I say, definitely, what comfort zone?! (writing.. all the way)

After lunch (shopping + Mos Burger) we are back to finish this. Prima's Heart Album. Superb for Mother's Day. Misting, Masking, Painting, Stamping.

The mess I made while working on this album. Lovin' it if only this was on a paper! Next time!

After tea, then it was this. I have been waiting for a whole day for this, the Inspirational Journal Class. Very interesting, very exciting and very funny.

Donna's Book

Donna's Pages (totally inspiring)

My Book (Up-to-date) Its getting there.

My first page.

So whatever that is inspiring you at the moment. Mediums, embellishments, techniques, techniques.

Handwriting again!

Page with fabric (patchwork)

Totally AWESOME!

Donna you inspire the Colours In Me.
