The Pursuit of Happiness

Since I'm not in my creative mood these days.. I'm actually catching up with my movies.. and downloading my Desperate Housewives episodes 17 and 18.

Tonight I watched The Pursuit of Happiness by Will Smith. Absolutely loved the movie, a very sad movie but very very good! An Absolutely MUST watch! The movie is about the struggles of poverty suffered by many every minute of everyday.

The movie reminds us of how we have to appreciate what we have, treasure and be happy, as compared to people who has nothing. Pursue our dreams and don't let anybody stop you in pursuing something you believe you can do.

Its an eye opener for a lot. For me, it was a reminder.

Thursday

I got alot done today, yesterday and tomorrow.. in fact just everyday.. Lots of work on tap for me. Piles of stories I want to tell. Piles of photos. Piles of everything. Maybe I should do a layout on this, my everyday activities. I have been trying to keep a list of stories I want to tell/pages I want to do. I have to write stuff like that down or I will never remember. Right now I have about six mini albums ongoing which I have not touched for a few weeks now + piles/list of what pages/LO I want to do..hehehe.. blame the getaway..

I have been doing so much running around to get Scrappingville going asap, I think I am starting to tire myself down. Comes night time, my scrap time, I am left with merely any energy nor any creativity for my pages. I hope when Scrappingville's ready, I get my scrap time, during the day hours, to scrap and regain my creativity juices.

Maybe it's time for me to take an inspirational trip to the craft store soon.. Sometimes I get my inspirations from all the blogs I visit everyday but my favourite now is http://michellehill.typepad.com//

Monday

Langkawi Weekend

It was such a good get-a-way! Refreshing! Although we had to let kids off school for 2 days (they didn't complain, ofcourse). We checked into Pelangi Resort and Spa on Thursday right thru to Sunday. We did alot of swimming at the pool, mummies chillin' at the poolside, collecting shells at the beach, mostly kids stuff. Pelangi is old but I think they have maintained it well. I love the idea of kampung houses. Here was our "kampung house" for the family. We occupied two whole houses, playground as our frontview and beach as our balcony view.. absolutely refreshing..

and by night...

We enjoyed every bit of it.. I wonder where we'll go next family trip..

Finding Nemo on Ice

Took kids to watch the talk of the town.. Finding Nemo on Ice.. We enjoyed it so much.. (maybe not as much as the kids). I thought the whole show was pretty good, very colourful, so vibrant. My favourite was the "superdude" turtle crush...TOTALLY...!! The only thing was that the sound system could have been better. Apparently, some people complained about the sound system and they got free tickets to see the next show!! If only I knew, I would have made a complain..sigh.. but otherwise the show was good.. characters were so adorable..

Hubby thought the fishies looks weird.. head on chest?..eewww.. he says.. I thought they were so cute and colourful..

Dira: "Mama, why are they not wet?". She was wondering why they were not in the ocean!

At the end of the show.. I was seeing Nemos, Nemos and more Nemos.. more than 1 anyway!

Tuesday

Altered Cigar Box

Altered Cigar Box
For A Special Friend Forever..

I only included our scrapping pictures which were taken by Hubby at grandpa's house.. pictures are not great (although I think the Hubby can use abit of help with his photography skills from the TC)

We were making the starbook.. you're a fast learner I must say.. don't think you'll be needing the step-by-step photos we took now huh...

Just somethings to remind you of our days .. crazy things we did + say + sang ..

I wished we took more photos back then.. in fact we do have some..its a matter of locating them thats all...eh ms lo?

Happy Birthday to you..

Thursday

Voila!

Nadia and Nadira finally finished their castles! It took us exactly a week to finish. 2 days to dry.. 1 day to paint, another day we added windows, this morning we started with glitter for the top and finally decorated the garden! Nadia's the pink castle and Nadira's the purple. I absolutely left Nadia to do the decorating.. she thought of the scrubs (supposedly "little trees", the bridge, the twigs) I am really happy with how both the castles turned out.

Now I have to think of how to keep the castles as long as possible... hmm.. any ideas? Shadow box? hahaha

Kids + Weekend = Activities

I was feeling like arts + crafts on Saturday morning, too lazy to leave home to take kids to Art Attack, so I pulled out the Art Attack book I bought for the kids ages ago and decided to build a castle. We finally made used of all the toilet rolls we've been saving all these months..

After putting up the castle structure with toilet rolls + masking tape, only did I realise, we should have done only 1 castle! Boy, did this kept me busy for the rest of the weekend. If you're curious, we still have not managed to finish the castle just yet. We have painted them and put windows in.. now all we've gotta finish is the glitter cone roof! We will try to finish that this weekend.

Wednesday

Zoo Negara

Thank you so much for all the comments for the Grandpa's Album. Figured the altered Dvd folder would be a better album for the sailing photos simply because I could put in as many photos as I want into it, just keep adding pages. But here is an album with much lesser photos of our recent trip to the Zoo. I have been wanting to scrap the kid's zoo photos forever, from Perth Zoo (2years ago) to this recent trip to Zoo Negara, Malaysia (a few weeks ago).

I found in my stash that I had animal prints acid free patterned papers lying around in my pile of papers!! Only remembered I had them after I did a major tidying up of my scrap area.

Also I found animal brads from Eyelet Outlet, I bought ages ages ago.. hehehe..sometimes you really don't know what you'll find after tidying up...hehehe

Every page I sanded for an aged look..

Because I cleared up all my scrapping mess, I misplaced the brochures I took back from the Zoo. So I printed out the map of the Zoo from the Website. The website was so helpful, I even included the names of the animals listed on the website.. great fun!
