This album I made with mounting board instead of corrugated boxes for the covers. I was trying different things/techniques for making albums. I scored the mounting board and glued down the patterned paper with King's Bond Glue, Best Japanese Glue. What I found is that using glue stick is much easier. Using normal liquid glue, found that it dried up faster than glue stick and the paper tears easier compared to using a glue stick. If you are doing an album such as this one, with a scored side, for easier flipping, I would suggest if you use glue stick. Works better.

what i did was score the mounting board with a normal bone folder and depending on the thickness of the board i'm using, sometimes i slightly cut it after scoring.. it works. if using corrugated covers, just simply score it with a normal bone folder. it turns out great!

Having been so inspired by all the self-made albums on both your blogs, i'm making my very first one for the Hubby for valentines. Nothing too ambitious...just a small voucher book type thing. I've used corrugated cardboard from a box and scored the fold on the cover with my bone folder. It worked but i also tore the cardboard. Is there any alternative?

with my earlier album, let's call them "my brownies" album, my previous post. I used corrugated cardboard and scored the fold on the cover with a bone folder, it worked and same time didnt tear.

May i suggest using a thicker corrugated cardboard only if you can still change the cardboard. my other suggestion is to use mounting board and cut slightly into it so it folds nicely.

Hmm.. thats funny because i scored on the corrugated cardboard and it worked fine and did not tear.

Maybe when scoring, try to not score with the tip of the bone folder, score with the sides of the bone folder. fingers crossed!
